- Miscellaneous Information:
Andy is a biochemist with over 20 years research experience in the field of proteomics and the determination of protein structure.
Following a degree and PhD in biological chemistry from the University of Warwick, Dr Gill joined the Institute for Animal Health, Compton as a research scientist, before becoming a research leader at the same institution.
In 2007 Dr Gill transferred to The Roslin Institute where he led a team researching the expression, structure and function of proteins that are important for animal host-pathogen interactions. Dr Gill also provided scientific and strategic oversight for the Proteomics and Metabolomics Facility at Roslin, through which he researched metabolomics methodologies and the role of specific small molecules in biochemistry of animals and humans.
In 2017 Dr Gill was recruited to the University of Lincoln to manage JBL Science and to oversee the commercial analytical science activities for the College of Science
Bio-analytical science, Molecular structure determination, Environmental sciences and contamination, Metabolomics and proteomics, Forensics, Protein and peptide production, Chromatography, Mass spectrometry
- With a background as a leading academic researcher, Andy has core skills in mass spectrometry and protein structure, particularly as applied to biomolecular characterisation and quantitative analysis
